Word Voyage Privacy Policy

Word Voyage (the “App”) is a language-learning game published by KAKEL ENTERPRISES LLC (“KAKEL,” “we,” “us”). This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. You can use the core of the App without an account; some features (sync, leaderboard, push notifications) require signing in.

1. Information We Collect

• Account information — if you choose to sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name, email address, profile photo, and a user ID. Sign-in is optional.
• Learning data — your progress, scores, streaks, settings, and preferences, so we can sync them across your devices and show leaderboards.
• Practice reminders — if you turn on daily reminders, they are scheduled locally on your device. We do not collect a push/messaging token and do not send remote push messages.
• Microphone audio — when you use the “say the word” pronunciation features, your device’s speech recognizer processes audio to transcribe your speech. We do not store recordings; transcription is handled by your device/operating-system speech service.
• Advertising identifier — to show ads, Google AdMob may access your device advertising ID and limited ad-interaction data.
• Device & log data — standard technical data (device model, OS version, app version, diagnostic signals) used to operate and improve the App.

We do not use a third-party analytics SDK, and we do not sell your personal information.

2. How We Use Your Information

To provide and sync your learning experience and leaderboards; show the daily practice reminders you opt into (scheduled locally on your device); enable pronunciation practice; show advertising that keeps the App free; and maintain security, prevent abuse, and fix problems.

3. Service Providers

• Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore) — accounts and data sync. See Firebase privacy.
• Google AdMob & Google Play services — advertising and platform services. See the Google Privacy Policy.
• Apple — if you use Sign in with Apple. See the Apple Privacy Policy.

4. Advertising

The free App shows ads via Google AdMob, which may use your advertising ID to serve and measure ads, including personalized ads where permitted. You can reset or limit your advertising ID in your device settings (Android: Settings → Google → Ads).

5. Children

Word Voyage is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

We keep account and learning data while your account is active. You can delete your data at any time: in the App via Profile → Settings → Account, or by emailing us — we will delete your account data, typically within 30 days.

7. Security

Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored on Google Cloud/Firebase infrastructure. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

8. Your Rights

Depending on where you live (e.g., the EEA/UK under GDPR, or California under the CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us below.

9. Changes

We may update this policy; we will revise the “last updated” date and, for material changes, provide notice in the App.
